Anne and I are late getting to the airport for our flight. We’d “popped” back home from Italy for something. As we’re running to the gate, I call one of our friends. She tells me the plane is leaving the gate and I tell her we’re almost there, to have them hold the plane. Anne says in shock, “they’ll do that??” We get to the counter and the lady tells us the flight has been oversold and there was no room for us. Someone comes up and says they have one seat left for the flight to LaGuardia. I tell Anne to take it. As she’s walking to the plane I have second thoughts. I yell to her, “Just so you know, I’m not ok with this!”
I’m walking around, bummed out and wondering if I’m ever gonna get a flight back to Italy in time. Someone at one of the counters tells me there is availability on the flight to LaGuardia. I don’t question it, I just take it. I walk over to the lounge area to wait for the flight and one of the girls I went to Italy with is sitting there. I pretend I don’t see her.
I walk around a corner and there is a bar there. There are mini mugs of margaritas with little pieces of something in them, maybe candy. I don’t have any money, so I just eat the candy that’s in them. They’re really good! The bartender tells me they’re complimentary, so I take one.
I turn around and right there is a friend of mine and some of his friends. We chat for a bit and he accidentally spills his drink on me. He tells me not to worry about it that he’ll take care of it. His friends come back with a dress from the shop that cost $8,000.00! I’m shocked, but we start laughing knowing we’ll return it when I’m done with it. I go to the bar to get another margarita and the bartender tells me to be careful that they’re strong.
I walk out to the deck-of the boat we’re on, not the plane we thought it was. I start talking to the pilot about the boat, asking him about certain areas. The pilot starts to explain things about the model of the plane.
Back inside I find the pods. We each have individual pods, to keep our things and sleep in. As I walk down some stairs in my dress, I suddenly feel like I’m Ramona Singer (from The Real Housewives of New York). In a frame on the table is a list of what Ramona made her first year in business up to the present time. I’m explaining to my friend how it can be done, as though I’m the one who has done it. Saying how over three years it started at $100,000.00 and it’s now over $300,000.00.
“Even thus last night, and two nights more I lay, And could not win thee, Sleep, by any stealth: So do not let me wear to-night away. Without thee what is all the morning’s wealth? Come, blessed barrier between day and day, Dear mother of fresh thoughts and joyous health!” ~William Wordsworth
Here is ‘A’s interp on this dream:
- being late for a plane has a couple of meanings, but the one that makes sense to me in regard to you right now is that you could be having a hard time with a decision regarding new opportunities in your life. You keep going back and forth over what to do. You may also be struggling with feeling supported in meeting your current goals.
- alcohol in the dream can represent a problem you are trying to find a solution for and you keep going in circles. It’s important for you to acknowledge how you are feeling about things in your waking life.
- dreaming of airplanes can be symbolic of you looking for ways to rise above your troubles.
- boats can symbolize your ability to deal with your emotions and how you cope or express them.
I’m continually amazed at how accurate these are for me. How dreaming of being late for a plane symbolizes having a hard time with a decision regarding new opportunities-it’s fascinating! What do you think? Share in the comments below!
